The Rose Parade passed through Lovell Saturday with a variety of floats, vehicles and groups making their way up and down Main Street, all in the spirit of Mustang Days and community pride. Groups in the parade ranged from politicians and reunited LHS classes to rodeo royalty and turtle shriners zipping down the shoulder of the road.

Senior Royalty Elmer and Candy Bisby rode in a PT Cruiser covered in blossoming roses and Parade Marshall John Nickle rode with LaMoine Sorenson in the back of a pickup truck, representing the Pryor Mountain Wild Mustang Center.

A new addition to the parade this year was the LHS Marching Band, directed by Dane Mickelson. Another new addition was Zac Haskell riding on a trailer with a large white “L,” representing the letter that he and others painted on Little Sheep Mountain in June. Sue Taylor rode in a truck with signs advertising for the Lovell Farmer’s Market, which is set to open Friday, July 18.

Some other favorites still marching this year were the Mustang Band and the Dollies of the Follies, Wyoming Fiddlers, members of the Wyoming National Guard, religious organizations, area businesses and Smokey Bear.
