For residents wishing to cut their own Christmas trees, the Bighorn National Forest is again offering permits.
Permits are $8 per tree for an eight-foot tree or smaller. Residents can purchase up to five permits. Permits are good only on the Bighorn National Forest.
Trees available include Douglas Fir, Engelmann Spruce, Lodgepole Pine, Sub Alpine Fir.
Trees cannot be cut with 100-feet of a roadway. A complete information sheet is provided with each permit.
Permits are available at the Medicine Wheel/Paintrock District Office in Lovell, the Farm Service Agency in Greybull at 408 Greybull Ave. and the National Park Service Visitor Center in Lovell on the weekends.
The Forest Service office and Farm Service Agency will be closed on Thanksgiving this week, but both are open Friday. Regular hours for the FSA is Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.
