Elda Robertson Huling, 87, of Phoenix, Ariz., died Dec. 24, 2009. Funeral services were held December 31.
Elda was born Nov. 8, 1922, in Lovell to Bryant Barnes Robertson and Amelia Harris. She and her two older brothers, Reece and Mark, grew up on the family farm and graduated from the Lovell schools. She married Jean Robert Huling in Cheyenne in January 1944. They divorced in 1959 and Elda returned to Wyoming where she worked and attended the University of Wyoming, earning a degree in library science. She accepted a job as high school librarian in Peoria, Ariz., and served in that capacity until 1988.
Through the years, her love of travel took her around the world with friends and close relatives, visiting nearly every continent. She returned to Lovell almost every summer, spending many hours doing genealogy and visiting friends and relatives. She was an avid reader, held many callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was active in the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Her greatest love was for her family and she always found great joy in her association with them.
Elda was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers.
She is survived by three children, Jon of Phoenix, Bonnie (John) Allred of Texas, Rex (LaDawn) of Virginia; 15 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.
