Donald Jolley

Feb. 8, 1947 – July 16, 2022

Donald Jolley, 75, passed away at his home on July 16, 2022. 

Don was born Feb. 8, 1947, in Lovell to Gerald and Alma Jolley. He grew up on the family farm outside of Lovell, surrounded by his siblings and many cousins. Don enjoyed wrestling, riding horses and working on the family farm.

Don graduated from Lovell High School in 1965. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1966 and served honorably until March 1969. 

He met Sheila Scholting in Sacramento, California, and they were married March 21, 1969, in Lovell and have shared the last 53 years together. Their union was blessed with four children, Mike, Bryant, Jaime and Adam.

Don held many jobs over the years, including plant foreman and plant supervisor for America Colloid in North Dakota and team leader at Georgia-Pacific, and he drove truck on and off over the years. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alma and Gerald Jolley, son Bryant and five other children and brother Barry.

Don is survived by his wife, Sheila; children Mike (Linda) Jolley, Jamie Hoover and Adam (Mikki) Jolley; sisters Barbara (Dusty) Fuller and Cindy (Mike) Stewart; brothers Gary (Julie) Jolley, David (Garnet) Jolley and Brent (Lizz) Jolley; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. 

Interment of ashes and a military service will be held at the Lovell Cemetery on Aug. 5 at 10 a.m. A luncheon will follow the services at the LDS Church.
