We are sad to announce the passing of our beloved Margaret Catherine Brown.

Margaret was born March 23, 1934, in Oklahoma. She passed away on April 29, 2023, in Lovell.

Margaret and her family moved to California, where she met her true love William J Brown. They were married on April 1, 1953. Together, they raised six boys and one girl. 

Margaret was adored by all who knew her. Her favorite thing in life was her vast family, whether you were born, married or unofficially adopted. She considered many her family.

During her many years on this earth she raised her family, briefly ran her own restaurant and owned and operated a beauty salon. She was an avid quilt maker and enjoyed sewing different things for her friends and family. She was also an amazing cook and would lay on a feast any chance she got. Her holiday pies are a hard act to follow.

Family get-togethers, holidays or any excuse to entertain brought true joy to her life. Family camping trips, family reunions and family vacations were a large part of her life. There will not be a family camping trip, family reunion or family feud where she will not be the highlight of the stories. She had a great sense of humor, and she loved to share jokes and play practical jokes, as well.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jr Brown, sons Calvin Brown, Randy Brown, Murl Brown, Daniel Brown and Scott Brown and her daughter Faith Brown. She has also joined her brothers Boyd Stumbaugh, Rual Stumbaugh and Joseph Stumbaugh, as well as her sisters Imogen Hobbs, Beverly and Rosemary.

Margaret is survived by her son Anthony Brown as well as her daughters-in-law Sharon, Debbie and Sheri, sister Lavon (Bonnie) and brother Bruce. She will be dearly missed by 14 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. 

Graveside services will be held May 30, 2023, at 9 a.m. at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Coalinga, California.
