Police Report: Blackmail threat reported after online encounter
The Lovell Police Department received the following calls for the week of May 6 - 12:
May 6: Officers investigated a report of a young girl with bruises on her face. The parents told officers the girl fell.
May 7: A report of a father playing rough with a child was referred to the Department of Family Services for further investigation.
May 8: Officers were asked to check on some children who hadn’t attended school for three days and found that the family had car trouble during an out-of-state excursion.
May 10: Officers investigated a report of a woman causing a disturbance. It turned out that the woman was experiencing extreme pain and an ambulance was called to take her to the hospital.
May 11: An individual reported being harassed by another individual who was threatening to blackmail him after online contact. The threatening individual was not local, and officers were not able to determine the point of origin of the call. It appeared to be a common online scam.
• Jesse Montanez was arrested for not using a turn signal, driving with no insurance, registration or driver’s license and driving without using an interlock device on a vehicle.
May 12: Cameron Ryan Tirrell was arrested on an outstanding warrant in connection with a breach of the peace violation.
