Police Report: Frozen pipes lead to house fire last week

The Lovell Police Department received the following calls for the week of January 8 to January 14:

January 10: 12:26 p.m. - A reporting party on Kansas Avenue said that her boyfriend broke into the house but had left by the time the officers arrived.  

7:39 p.m. - A woman went to start her truck on East 3rd Street and stepped outside of the vehicle. The doors locked on her, and her toddler was inside the car. Officers made contact and unlocked the car. The child was fine, and no further action was needed.

7:57 p.m. - A civil trespassing order between two citizens was served on East 6th Street.

January 13: 6:09 p.m. - A house fire was reported on West 3rd St. A homeowner had been trying to thaw out his frozen pipes on his own. In the midst of doing that, the homeowner accidentally caught the house on fire.

8:02 p.m. - Two cattle trucks were blocking the road due to gelled up fuel on West Main St. and Kansas Ave.

January 14: 10:11 p.m. - A father and son were arguing about money issues. The dad wanted the adult son separated for the day. He was taken to a friend’s house. He received a citation for minor in possession.
