Sheriff report: Driver not impaired, merely night blind
The Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office received the following calls for the week of Dec. 10-15:
December 10: 10:05 a.m. – A cow was reported out of its pasture on East Second Street in Lovell just before U.S. 14A. A deputy reported the wayward cow to its probable owner.
11:18 a.m. – A deputy came upon an injured deer on Wyoming Highway 32 near Byron and received permission from the Game and Fish to euthanize the animal.
December 11: 5:33 p.m. – A female caller reported that she and her husband’s Explorer had just hit a deer near the intersection of U.S. 310 and Lane 12 east of Lovell. The Wyoming Highway Patrol was advised, but as the vehicle was still drivable, the couple was advised that they didn’t need to remain at the scene. A deputy also responded to the scene.
December 12: 10:43 a.m. – A deputy informed a party that they needed to get their unlicensed vehicle off a public street in Byron on Heart Mountain Street according to state statute and town ordinance.
December 13: 5:26 p.m. – A REDDI report was called in regarding an apparent impaired driver leaving Good2Go. A deputy made contact with the driver and discovered that the elderly woman in question was not impaired but rather said she doesn’t drive well at night.
9:13 p.m. – A horse was reported running loose near the Foster Gulch Golf Course on Lane 13. A deputy responded and checked to see who the horse belonged to. It was later put away once again.
December 14: A deputy removed debris from the highway on U.S. 310 about 15 miles south of Lovell.
Note: The above calls were received by the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office. Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney.
