Sheriff report: Protection order violation leads to arrest
The Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office received the following other calls for the week of October 13-19:
October 13: 12:52 a.m. – A barking dog complaint in Cowley was referred to Cowley officer Dan Anderson, who made contact with the dog owner. The owner promised to take his dogs in at night.
2:13 p.m. – A deputy turned in a citizen’s lost cell phone at the county annex. Contact was made with the owner for pickup.
3:55 p.m. – A deputy checked on a vehicle parked alongside the highway near the Byron Cemetery on Road 5, having run out of gas. The vehicle was tagged for removal the next day, and on day three the owner was reached and promised to retrieve the vehicle.
October 14: 11:38 – A caller reported having found a backpack in the Bighorn National Forest but could not be immediately contacted for followup.
3:02 p.m. – A silver Honda with Park County plates said to be “all over the road” was reported near Frannie. The call was referred to Park County since the vehicle was heading toward Powell.
5:34 p.m. – A traffic hazard in the form of a sugar beet spill near Cowley was referred to the Wyoming Highway Patrol so contact could be made with WyDOT for cleanup.
October 15: 6:51 a.m. -- Three horses were reported loose just west of Byron, and dispatch contacted the owner to alert them of the situation.
12:07 p.m. – Deputies assisted the Lovell Police Department at the scene of a death at Rose City West.
12:31 p.m. – A deputy called the owner of cows reported out on Road 7 near Lovell. The owner promised to put the cows back where they belonged.
October 16: Employees at the Cowley Mercantile requested and received a no-trespassing order for unwelcome customers.
2:27 p.m. – After a call, it was reported that a dog running loose at Good 2 Go west of Lovell liked being there because the truck drivers feed him.
October 17: 8:30 p.m. – A driver reported striking a deer with a 2022 Kia and said the vehicle was not drivable and the deer deceased. A deputy responded, and the driver of the Kia got a ride home from her husband.
October 18: 10:28 a.m. – A deputy responded to the scene of a crash atop the Big Horn Mountains where a pickup and trailer had hit ice and had jackknifed. Highway patrol was to investigate.
8:24 p.m. – A Toyota pickup lost its driveline and was reportedly limping back to Frannie.
October 19: 8:15 p.m. – Deputies responded when an estranged man showed up at a property in violation of a protection order in Cowley. Alan Arthur Partridge was arrested for violation of a protection order, criminal entry and possession of a controlled substance in liquid form.
Note: The above calls were received by the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office. Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney.
