Tickets available for ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’
The reconstituted North Big Horn Arts Council will stage the Christmas play “It’s a Wonderful Life” at the Hyart Theatre on Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 9-10, and tickets are on sale now.
According to Arts Council treasurer Bryan Baird, the play is in the format of a 1940s era radio broadcast, complete with foley art sound effects. The audience will in essence play the role of a live studio audience.
The curtain comes up at 7 p.m. each night.
Tickets are available at the Lovell Area Chamber of Commerce office for $10 with early purchase. Tickets at the door will be $12.
The play is directed by Sharon Hall, and primary cast members are Stan Hedges as Geoge Bailey, Mikayla Schroeder as Mary Hatch, Kurt Wheeler as Clarence and Jody Lynne Bassett as “Mrs.” Potter.
The set, designed by Ross Fuller, is in the form of a broadcast booth including a sound effects table.
The play is partially funded by the Lovell Board of Cooperative Educational Services, and primary sponsors are Big Horn Federal, the Bank of Lovell, Little Acres Farms, Club Dauntless and Bairco Construction.
Proceeds will go to the Hyart Theatre, Baird said.
“We’re hoping this is the beginning of an annual tradition to enhance people’s holidays and bolster business for the Hyart,” he said. “We hope to do more programs throughout the year and make the Hyart central to various activities.”
