Wyoming State Drone Championships returns to NWC June 14
Drone enthusiasts and those just learning the craft are invited to Northwest College Saturday, June 14, for the 2025 Wyoming State Drone Championships and Bighorn Basin Drone Challenge Cup. It runs from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. in the Yellowstone Building Conference Center and is open to all K-12, technical college, community college, and university students as well as teachers.
The fee is $10, and registration information can be found at caperteam.com/stub/idrone-240420-fbb2f. All paid registrants will receive a free T-shirt while supplies last. There is no charge for spectators.
Participants are welcome to learn and compete regardless of skill level or experience and can bring their own drone (less than 300 grams with propeller guards) or borrow one on site. The day’s schedule includes three sessions, and participants can attend any of their choice or all three.
10 a.m.: Learn to Fly Flight School
Noon: Obstacle Course Racing
2 p.m.: Drone Film Festival
Those interested in submitting videos for the drone film festival should do no later than 48 hours prior to the event for judging.
