Beals win annual Chamber Christmas lighting contest

The votes have been tallied and the winners selected for the annual Lovell Area Chamber of Commerce Christmas Lighting Contest.

This year’s winner, judged by the chamber board of directors, is a home at 751 Shoshone in Lovell owned by Tracy and Valerie Beal. The Beal display features a lighted nativity scene, reindeer, candy canes, snowmen, a Christmas tree and more.

Judged second place was the Carol Prostrollo home at 159 W. Eighth in Lovell. The display includes Peanuts characters, a toy shop, reindeer, Santa in his sleigh, candy, presents, a large bear, a manger/nativity scene, a palm tree and the Christmas star.

In third place is the Audra Jewell home at 664 Nevada. Jewell’s display features a fence lined with lights, a snowman, reindeer, decorated trees, Santa, a snowman, lighted candy canes, a house lined with lights and inflatable characters.

In all, nine homes were nominated, and the rules state that a home that wins is ineligible to place first in each of the next two years.

Also nominated this year were 266 East Sixth St., Jerry Jameson; 897 Lane 12, Steve Durfee; 168 W. Eighth, Rodney Palmer; 30 W. 10th Street, Brock and Keela Meier; 12 East Eighth, Steven Hunder; and 1050 Nevada, Phyrn Opp.

This year’s winning home receives $100 in chamber bucks, second place $50 and third place $25.
