The Big Horn County Little League Majors and Minors all-star teams have been practicing hard in preparation for the district tournament to be held July 10-13 in Bridger Valley.

The squads will begin pool play on Wednesday with the Majors facing off against Riverton at noon and the Minors verses Cody at 4 p.m.

On Thursday, the Majors take on Powell at 9:30 a.m. followed by the Minors going against Riverton at 1:30 p.m.

The standings after all of the pool play contests will determine seeding for the single-elimination bracket play set to begin on Friday morning.

For the Minors, the team will include Jace Jameson, Jamen Crosby, Esson Anderson, Hudson Morgan, James Henderson, Kooper May, Logan Timpany, Luke Bischoff, Spencer Walker, Taysom Butler, Thayne Walker and Kali Jameson, coached by Nicc Crosby.

“We’re hoping to build on the successes we had and learn from our shortcomings at our All-Stars and Stripes tournament,” Coach Crosby said.

“We are looking to hit the ball more consistently against pitchers who throw harder and field the ball a little better,” he added. “I keep telling our players that we’ll have a lot of fun and be very competitive if we’ll stay focused and hustle as we prepare and play. I really like what I’ve been seeing from them in practice.”

Bradley Mickelson, Brhysan Henton, Brock Butler, Brooks Brost, Camden Blain, Dane Wilson, Dax Mangus, Gage Angell, Kayan Owens, Landon Asay, Madden Cooley and Jaxen Baxendale will be led by coach JT Mickelson for the Majors all-stars.

“We’ve got a talented squad and I look forward to seeing our practice pay off at the district tournament and hopefully punch our ticket to State,” Mickelson said.
