Big Horn Berserkers excel in Colorado paintball competition
The Lovell-based Big Horn Berserkers paintball team wowed the competition at the recent Colorado Championship Series in Aurora, Colorado.
The Berserkers placed second in the Event 3 finale and third place overall in the entire series, which concluded on October 11, team member Dustin Wagner said.
Competing in Division 4, the highest level offered in the area, the Berserkers went 2-0 in the preliminaries against Denver Purge, 2-0 against Dynamic Leftovers, 1-2 against Avalanche PB and 0-2 against Havok. Seeded third going into the semifinals based on points and game time, the Berserkers beat the Dynamic Leftovers 2-0, then fell to Avalanche PB in the finals, 2-0.
“I would like to thank all the guys and girls that joined us this season for all their hard work and dedication,” Wagner said. “Getting into tournament paintball is no small endeavor. There are a lot of out-of-pocket expenses, from gear, entry, travel expenses and cost of paint.
“I would particularly like to give a shout out to our new D5 players this season: Eliza Wagner, Skylar Murphy, Darin Torczon, Jacob Palmeno and Mike Beecher. Also our returning players: Damian Wagner, Ali Wagner, Zak Gadberry, Cade Budell and Brenner Elliott. Also those that guested on the team and helped coach us, as well: Chris Lane, Tito Vivier, Logan Wolfe and James Greer.
“Everyone brought things together this season, and I look forward to more fun next season.”
