Big Horn County trio swims well at Worland triangular

The Powell High School boys swimming team kicked off the new year Friday with a Worland triangular featuring Cody, Powell and host Worland.

During this meet, Lovell senior Hugh Carpenter placed second in the 200-yard IM and third in the 100-yard fly. Rocky Mountain senior Will Fuller placed fifth in the 200-yard IM and fifth in the 500-yard free. Fuller qualified for State in the 200-yard IM during this meet with a time of 2:27.84.

Junior Gabe Buchholz placed fifth in the 100-yard free and eighth in the 50-yard free. Buchholz qualified for State in the 100-yard free with a time of 59.26.

The Big Horn County trio will compete with the Panthers Friday in a 5 p.m. triangular at the Cody Rec Center and Saturday as PHS hosts the Gene Dozah Invitational. Swimming is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Aquatic Center.
