Bischoff to officiate Mustang Days parade

Longtime educator Chauna Bischoff has been selected by the Mustang Days Committee to act as official parade marshal of the Mustang Days Parade on Saturday.
Mustang Days parade coordinator Kristine Henley said Bischoff’s name came up more than once, and she seemed like a good fit for the distinguished honor.
“There were a number of reasons she was nominated,” explained Henley. “For one thing, she’s done so much with youth both inside and outside of the classroom. She teaches music lessons and puts together veterans programs in the community like on Memorial Day and at the recent flag ceremony. All of that has been outside her job with the school. She does so much for our veterans and helps our youth dig deep into that. She’s just an awesome woman and everyone agreed with that.”
Bischoff will appear in the parade in her brother’s Mini Cooper convertible. Her daughter Dana Dillon will be driving the vehicle. Bischoff said she will be tossing a special surprise gift to the children lining the streets to view the parade.
Henley said the committee put out a request for nominations on social media earlier this year. She said the committee looks for a person with life experience who has made a contribution through his or her efforts to make the community a better place. She said Bischoff matched those criteria perfectly.
Bischoff said she was quite surprised to be named for the honor.
