Carpenter and Sockey score points in Douglas
The Powell girls swim team hit the road to compete at the Douglas Invitational on October 4, and Daisy Carpenter and Leah Sockey from Lovell went with them.
Both swimmers had impressive times and scored some points for the Powell team. To start, Carpenter placed fifth in the 100-meter backstroke and was also on the 200-meter medley relay, which took third place, and the 400-meter freestyle medley, which took first place.
Sockey took 10th in the 400-meter freestyle and 19th in the 50-meter freestyle. Sockey was also on the 200-meter freestyle relay team, which took sixth place, and the 400-meter freestyle relay, which also placed sixth.
The Lovell girls are having an excellent season so far, and they are set to go for the Buffalo Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 11, in Buffalo.
