Charles ‘Chuck’ Andrew Hoffman
Nov. 25, 1951 – June 23, 2024
Charles “Chuck” Andrew Hoffman, 72, passed away June 23, 2024, at Billings Clinic.
He was born November 25, 1951, in Stuart, Nebraska, to Charles Edward Hoffman and Lois Bernelda Erickson. After Chuck’s father passed away in 1964, Lois married Lynn Beddes. Chuck was the oldest of three boys.
He attended school in Powell until the family moved to Cowley in 1966, where Chuck graduated from Cowley High School in 1970.
After high school, the employment of jobs began, the longest being at American Colloid for 35 years until Chuck’s retirement.
Chuck was married to his wife, Trixie, for almost 40 years this September, and they were together for 45 years. They made their home west of Cowley, where they raised their two sons, Andy and Pat.
He served his community on the Cowley Cemetery Board and in the Cowley Rodeo Club, serving food during Pioneer Days and being involved in 4-H and FFA with his sons.
He had a passion for livestock and enjoyed growing a garden. He was always good for a chat and could often be found making his rounds to family and friends.
Chuck was preceded in death by his father, Charles E. Hoffman, mother Lois B. Beddes, stepfather Lynn Beddes and nephew William Hoffman.
He is survived by his wife, Trixie, children Andy (Kayce) Hoffman and Pat (Bertie Brotherton) Hoffman, stepdaughter Sharon Gordon, brothers Terry Hoffman and Roger (Lori) Hoffman, sister-in-law Diane Hoffman, grandchildren Major Hoffman and Ayla Gordon and several nieces and nephews.
A family graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 13, at 9:30 a.m. at the Cowley Cemetery. We invite those who would like to share their memories of Chuck to join us for a celebration of life from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Deaver Town Hall following the service.
