Circus returns to Lovell on the Fourth

Tickets are on sale now around the community for the Culpepper & Merriweather Circus, which will be staged under the big top at the Lovell Rodeo Grounds on Saturday, July 4, the Independence Day holiday.

The circus is once again sponsored by the Masons of Lovell, part of Tri-Mountain View Masonic Lodge No. 35.

Shows will be held at 2 and 4:30 p.m. on July 4, but the day begins with a tent raising and tour at 9:30 a.m.

“Everyone is invited to watch the Big Top rise,” event publicity states. “You’ll also get a chance to tour the grounds and get a behind-the-scenes look at our show. Learn about life on the road and the care our animals receive.”

The midway opens at 1 p.m. for pony rides, a moon bounce, giant slide, face painting, concessions stand and day-of-event ticket sales at the box office.

The C&M Circus has been providing family entertainment for 41 years, and the 2026 show includes the Big Cats presented by Trey Key, aerialist Simone on the trapeze, the Perez Daredevil Duo on the tight rope and Wheel of Destiny, the high energy Macias family with hand and foot juggling, Miss Gianna and her performing canines and circus clown Leo Acton.

Advance tickets are on sale around the community for $14 for an adult ticket and $8 for children 2-12 and seniors 65 and older. Day-of-event tickets at the box office cost $17 for adults and $10 for children and seniors. Circusgoers are urged to purchase tickets early, not only to save money and skip the box office line, but a higher percentage of sales goes to the local sponsor for advance sales.

Proceeds from the tickets go to support the activities of the Masons of Lovell, including bicycles for top readers at Lovell and Rocky Mountain elementary schools.

Advance tickets can be purchased at the Lovell Area Chamber of Commerce, Barber Mafia, Pryor Mountain Electric and the Lovell Chronicle or from any member of the Masonic lodge.
