Commodities Distribution slated for Nov. 16 at St. John’s church

A USDA Commodities distribution is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 16, from 4 to 5:30 p.m.  Residents of Big Horn County may pick up commodities at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 520 Montana Ave., Lovell.
Volunteers will be distributing a variety of dried, fresh and canned foods. They also have a donation of meat arriving that day. Commodities distribution is income based. The February 2023 – January 2024 gross income eligibility guidelines are as follows. A single individual is eligible to receive commodities with up to $1,580 of monthly income, $18,954 annual income; a couple may have up to $2,137 of monthly income, $25,636 annual income; and for three persons the maximum is $2,694 of monthly income, $32,318 annual income. For each additional qualifying person in the household the maximum income increases by $557 of monthly income, $6,682 annual income.
St. John’s Lutheran Church is a Partner of the Food Bank of Wyoming. The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) is available to all eligible people regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or handicap within the quantities of USDA commodities available.
