In 2013, Dale left the Marine Corps and moved back to Wyoming.  He became a special education teacher in the Park County School District No. 16 in Meeteetse, Wyo.  While in Meeteetse, Dale met his best friend, Matt Jensen; they enjoyed coaching, fishing, hunting, and serving on the Meeteetse Volunteer Fire Department together.
