FFA members return from successful state convention
A total of 17 Lovell High School FFA students competed in team and individual events during the recent Wyoming State FFA Convention held in Cheyenne April 10-13. Team members shined bright at the competition.
Addisyn Perkins walked away with the state FFA creed title and will be representing the state of Wyoming in October at the national FFA convention in Indianapolis, Indiana. Croix Tryon earned her State FFA Degree.
The sales team consisting of members Tryon, Michael Harris, Augastina Lembke and Perkins placed third high team overall and champion team in the sales test portion of the competition.
In horse judging, team members Kate Cooper, Chance Hatch, Keira Gossens and Payton Tillett placed 24th out of 48 total teams. The team placed 11th in reasons.
In livestock judging, team members Payton Bischoff, Perkins, Kasey Jordan and Elyssa Croft placed 16th out of 47 total teams and placed ninth overall in reasons and 10th overall team in swine. Bischoff placed eighth overall individually, 18th in sheep and fifth in placings. Perkins placed 18th in reasons and 13th in swine.
ENR (environment and natural resources) team members Tryon, Owen Hill, Lembke and Janemarie McKay placed fifth out of 28 teams. Individually, Tryon placed eighth overall, and Hill placed 11th overall.
The ag mechanics team consisting of members Jasper Hatch, Logan Spanier, Cayden Fink and Cadence Workman placed 29th out of 35 teams.
In events that took place prior to the competition, the meats judging team members Bischoff, Croft, Spanier and Hatch placed 16th out of 30 teams.
In vet science, team members were Tryon, Cooper, Lembke and KC Christensen. Lembke placed 21st out of 130 individuals.
