After over a month on the run, Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office reported a verified sighting of fugitive Anthony Pease in Byron on Saturday, Dec. 13.

Pease, a 39-year-old white male from Byron, is wanted by the U.S. Marshal Service on six accounts of felony sexual assault of a minor. While last seen in Byron on Nov. 1, Pease also has ties to Powell and Cheyenne. An award of $2,000 has been posted in exchange for information leading to his arrest. The U.S. Marshals have classified Pease as dangerous, with violent tendencies.

“If you see Pease, or know his location, please do not make contact with him,” Big Horn County Sheriff Ken Blackburn said in a release. “Call the Big Horn County Wyoming Sheriff’s Office at 307-568-2324 or 911 immediately.”

Saturday, Blackburn warned Byron area residents to make sure homes, garages, out buildings and vehicles were locked and secured. No vehicle has been associated with Pease. In a December 10 update, the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office requested on behalf of the U.S. Marshals that anyone with a collection of Morgan Silver Dollars or Silver Eagle coins to check and report any missing.

Further details regarding the case have been withheld due to confidentiality requirements and the ongoing investigation.

Active sightings of Pease should be called in to 911. Tips may be submitted online at http://www.usmarshalsgov/tips.
