Fuller, Moore post PRs in final home swim meet
The last home meet of the season for the Powell High School boys swim and dive team was held last Tuesday, Jan. 23, with north Big Horn County swimmers helping the Panthers with strong performances.
Personal records were posted by Will Fuller in the 50 free with a 4A qualifying time of 24.52 and Branton Moore with 1:26.30 in the 100 back. Team scores were Powell 163 v Worland 77; Cody 169 v Worland 70; Cody 144 v Powell 122.
On Friday the team made the trek over the mountain to Buffalo for a double dual with Cody and Buffalo. Team scores were Cody 98 v Powell 80; Buffalo 119 v Powell 61; Buffalo 107 v Cody 76. Fuller claimed a new PR in the 100 breaststroke in 1:15.94, and Gabe Buchholtz grabbed eighth place with a PR of 1:04.39 in the 100 free.
The team travels to Gillette for their conference meet on Friday and Saturday this week, Feb. 2-3. One more local meet is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 6, at 5 p.m. in Cody. The State 3A meet will be in Laramie Friday and Saturday, Feb. 16-17.
