Game and Fish to hold a season-setting meeting in Lovell

Wyoming Game and Fish will hold a public season setting meeting on Tuesday, March 25, at 6 p.m. at the Lovell Fire Hall, 314 Nevada Ave. Tara Hodges, information and education specialist for the WGF, said in a press release the Game and Fish invites the public, stakeholders in Wyoming’s wildlife, to attend these meetings and give their opinions about the season setting.

“As part of the annual season setting process, WGF hosts public meetings across the state during March,” Hodges said. “In these meetings, biologists present draft hunting season proposals, and the public may ask questions and provide input. This input is considered before WGF makes final recommendations to the commission in April. Each year, WGF proposes new hunting seasons, license quotas for the hunting seasons and license quotas across the state of Wyoming. After public input, the proposed plans are presented to the commission for approval in April.”

Area wildlife biologist Sam Stephens will attend the Lovell meeting to present proposed changes to local pronghorn, deer, elk, moose, bighorn sheep, turkey, game birds and small game seasons.
