Grand marshal Heidi Brightly, a story of hometown pride
The Byron Days Parade will have a special touch of hometown pride this year as Heidi Brightly, a cherished Byron native, will take the honored position of grand marshal. Known for her unwavering dedication to the community, her role as grand marshal is a fitting recognition of her lifelong contributions and the love she has for her hometown.
Heidi grew up and graduated in Byron, forming the foundation of her deep connection to the community. Her journey took her to various places as she pursued and excelled in a distinguished career in safety. Despite her professional commitments, her heart always belonged to Byron, and she made it a point to return to her roots upon her retirement.
After retiring, Heidi moved back to Byron, eager to spend time with her three children, grandchildren and longtime friends. Her return was not just a homecoming but a renewed commitment to the town that shaped her. She immersed herself in various community programs, bringing her expertise, compassion and leadership to each role.
As mayor of Byron, Heidi made significant contributions to the town’s development and well-being. Her involvement with the Lions Club, Community Watch program and Senior Companion program showcased her dedication to enhancing the quality of life for her fellow residents. Known for her compassion and willingness to help others, she has made friends wherever she goes, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she meets.
