Grizz middle school gridders swept by Lovell
The Rocky Mountain eighth-grade football team fell to the Lovell Bulldogs 35-0 at home Saturday morning. The Grizz played 11-man football on defense and 9-man on offense, coach Hal Moore said. Something to note is a new conference bylaw in which field goals are worth 2 points and offensive conversions are worth 1 point, he said.
“Ty Samson is out with a hand injury, and Hudson Moore will be filling in at quarterback while he heals,” Moore said.
The Rocky seventh-grade team fell to Lovell 19-13 in overtime in a tight contest.
“Tripp Hopkin scored both touchdowns, and Luke Ott caught a short pass for the PAT,” Moore said. “Rocky held the lead until two minutes left in the game when Lovell tied the game.”
The Grizzlies will travel to Shoshoni Saturday for a 10 a.m. kickoff.
