Harriet Jeanne Pace died on Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014, at North Big Horn Hospital. Harriet was born Dec. 14, 1940, in Denver to Marvin and Florence Crow.

She married John F. Pace in Sterling, Colo., on Sept. 21, 1961. They lived in several locations around the country while John was in the service, raising their family in northeastern Colorado before moving to Lovell, where they resided for the last 32 years.

Harriet was an active member of the First Christian Church in Sterling, singing in the choir and teaching vacation bible school. She was a den mother for the Cub Scouts, a leader for the Boy and Girl Scouts of America and a 4-H Club leader. She loved camping, fishing and hunting, and went on many such trips with her family. She also was a creative person who painted, crocheted and taught her four children many crafts.

She also had many occupations in addition to homemaker and mother. She was, at various times, a nurse’s aide, farmer, factory worker, restaurant chef and Avon representative. She and John were avid card players, participating in, and winning cribbage tournaments for many years.

Harriet is survived by her husband John F. Pace; sister Elizabeth Olsen; daughters Kathy Probert, Roberta Wright and Becky Pace; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Her son Ronald F. Pace preceded her in death. 

Memorial services were held on Friday, Sept. 5, 2014, at 10 a.m. at Haskell Funeral Home in Lovell. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.haskellfuneralhome.com.
