Homecoming Week continues at LHS
Let the Games Begin is the theme of the 2025 Lovell High School Homecoming Week, and three days of the games have already been held at the school, with activities continuing through Saturday.
The fun began Monday with the annual powder puff football game at Robertson Stadium, and three dress-up days were held: Class Color Day on Monday, Country vs. Country Club Day Tuesday and White Lies Day on Wednesday.
Today (Thursday) is Adam Sandler Day, culminating with the annual homecoming pep rally at 7 p.m. at the LHS Gym featuring a variety of games, crowd cheers, the LHS dance team and the announcement of royalty. The annual chili and cinnamon rolls dinner will precede the pep rally in the high school lobby from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. A meal costs $6, and individual cinnamon rolls will be sold for $4 each or $30 for a dozen. An individual cup of chili costs $3.
Resurrected last year, the homecoming parade will be held Friday, Sept. 19, from noon to 12:45 p.m. The parade will start at the high school and proceed east on Park Avenue to Shoshone Avenue, south past the elementary school to 9th Street, then west to the middle school.
Homecoming Week sporting events left on the calendar are the LHS cross country team running at Lander Thursday; the LHS golf team competing at the state tournament in Cody Friday and Saturday; the Bulldogs hosting Lyman on the gridiron Friday at 6 p.m.; and the LHS volleyball team hosting Tongue River Saturday at 12, 1 and 2 p.m.
A bonfire will follow the football game Friday south of the football field in the parking area, for students only.
The semi-formal homecoming dance will be held Saturday from 8:30 to 11 p.m. at the high school multipurpose room.
