The Buff Puff volleyball game has been played and two dress-up days are in the books as Homecoming 2024: A Trip Down Memory Lane continues at Lovell High School.

The volleyball games, in which boys are coached by girls, took place at the LHS Winterholler Gym Monday night.

Tuesday was Decades Day, with freshmen dressing in clothing from the 1970s, sophomores early 2000s, juniors ‘80s and seniors ’90, and Wednesday was Babies vs. Senior Citizens Day, with underclassmen dressing as babies and upperclassmen dressing like senior citizens.

The fun continues the rest of the week.

Thursday is Class Colors Day: red for freshmen, pink for sophomores, black for juniors and white for seniors. Friday is Blue and White Day.

The annual homecoming pep rally is tonight, Thursday, Sept. 26, at 7 p.m. at the LHS Gym featuring a variety of games, crowd cheers, the LHS dance team and the announcement of royalty. The annual chili and cinnamon rolls dinner will precede the pep rally in the gym lobby from 4 to 7 p.m. A meal costs $6, and individual cinnamon rolls will be sold for $4 each or $30 for a dozen.

A bonfire will follow the pep rally to the west of the football practice field.

For the first time in decades, a homecoming parade will be held Friday from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. The parade will start at the high school and proceed east on Park Avenue to Shoshoni Avenue, south past the elementary school to 9th Street, then west to the middle school.

Remaining Homecoming Week sporting events on the calendar are the LHS cross country team running at Worland Thursday at 3 p.m. and the homecoming football game Friday at 7 p.m. with the Bulldogs hosting Thermopolis. The volleyball team will also travel to Worland on Saturday, Sept. 28.

The homecoming dance will follow the football game Friday until 11:30 p.m. at the high school multipurpose room.
