Ina Jane Olsen Snell

Ina Jane Olsen Snell, 84, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Fairwinds-Sand Creek Retirement Community in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She was under the care of Solace Hospice.
Ina was born January 2, 1940, in Basin to Delbert M. and Lydia Olsen. She was married to Golden C. Snell Jr. on July 10, 1959, in the Idaho Falls Temple. Together, they had five sons, Barry (DaLea), Greg (Colleen), Quinn (Kristen), Sam (Emily) and Dustin (Christine).
After Ina and Golden were married, they attended the University of Wyoming in Laramie. Barry and Greg were born there. After graduation, Golden and Ina moved to Byron, where Golden taught at Byron High School for seven years. While living in Byron, Quinn was born.
In June of 1969, they moved to Rexburg, Idaho, where Golden taught Spanish at Ricks College. Sam and Dustin were born while living in Rexburg. Ina enjoyed teaching piano in her home for several years. She was later employed at Ricks College in the registrar’s office. She was also secretary for the math department.
She served as ward organist for many years in the Rexburg 11th Ward. She also served in the Stake Young Women’s presidency. In 2003, Golden and Ina served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Panama for 18 months.
Her hobbies included sewing, quilting and needle point. In the 1980s, Golden and Ina joined a motorcycle gang, which included many of their friends. They logged many miles and many good times.
Ina was preceded in death by her parents, all six of her siblings and her husband, Golden, who passed away in May 2013.
She has 25 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 9, at 1 p.m. at the Rexburg 12th Ward, 700 Park Street, Rexburg, Idaho. The family will visit with friends from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Rexburg Cemetery.
