Bucking bull, cake walk, shooting sports and food are just some of the fun things happening at the fairgrounds in Basin on Saturday, Jan. 20. The Inaugural Winter Festival will be held from 5-8 p.m. in the indoor arena.

Fair manager Cash Duncan said he wanted to bring winter activities back to the fairgrounds. Some of the booths could also be a test run for the fair. If the booths go well, he may bring them back for activities during fair week.

This is the mechanical bull’s debut. Attendees will get a chance to ride the newly purchased bull. Duncan believes the bull will be a hit at the carnival and fair. He also hopes that people having events at the fairgrounds consider renting the bull during the activity.

In addition to the bull, there will be booths featuring a bean bag toss, cake walk, shooting sports and photos. The cost is $25 per family or $10 per individual. The tickets will allow access to all the booths but the bull ride; that will be a separate cost per ride.

The event is a fundraiser for the fair. Food will be available for purchase. For additional information call 307-250-3427.
