James Russell Tolman

James Russell Tolman passed away at the Wyoming Retirement Center in Basin, Wyo., on Oct. 2, 2021.

Jim was born Aug. 10, 1949, in Lovell, Big Horn County, Wyo., to Mary Heath Tolman and Verl Tolman. His father was working a farm north of the old town of Kane, Wyo. Jim lived most of his youth on the farm east of Otto, Wyo.

He is preceded in death by his parents Verl and Mary Tolman; his wife Bertha Faye Tolman in 2010; his son Gary Virgil Tolman in 2005; his daughter Lori Ann Hernandez in May 2021, and his sister Carolin Southgate.

He is survived by his children: Timothy (Donna) Tolman of Worland, Wyo., Anthony (Michelle) Tolman of Surprise, Ariz., Sherri Tolman (Lance) Ferwerda of Kamiah, Idaho, Russell (Melanie) Tolman of Billings, Mont.; sister Jean Tolman (Norman) Preator of Burlington; brother Bill (Andrea) Tolman of Otto, and sister Norma Tolman (Jeff) Rudolph of Cody. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kierra Hernandez, Raquel Hernandez, Jordan Tolman, Cody Tolman, Logan Tolman, Kyle Rodriguez, Jesse Rodriguez, Kailauni Flake, Julian Flake, Jeremiah Flake, Alex Mcreary, Andy Mcreary. 

Burial and graveside services will be held in Otto Cemetery on Oct. 23, 2021 at 10:30 am.
