Joyce Elaine Rounds

April 14, 1936 – April 9, 2016

Joyce Elaine Rounds was born to Lewis H. Rounds and Edith L. Murray on April 14, 1936, in Everett, Wash. She had six brothers and one sister.[caption id="attachment_11165" align="alignright" width="204"] Joyce Elaine Rounds[/caption]The Rounds family moved to Powell, where Joyce graduated from high school. While living in Powell, she met Bill Workman through mutual friends. On May 15, 1952, Bill and Joyce were married in Lovell, Bill’s hometown. They made their home in Lovell. To this union were born six boys.Joyce loved to dance and was a really good dancer. It was said that “she could really cut a rug.” Bill and his brothers would often play at dances in the area. As a family, they spent their spare time in the mountains camping and fishing. She enjoyed drawing pictures with pencil.Bill and Joyce were later divorced. She found employment in nursing homes. She loved making friends and taking care of the elderly and was very good at it. She truly cared about them. She wrote a story about her experience with the elderly and how saddened she was to see how some families neglected their elderly family members in the nursing home.Joyce loved to travel. She didn’t like to stay in one place too long. She had an adventuresome spirit. She always would come back to Lovell, though, at least for awhile. She finally made Lovell her home the last years of her life. She made many good friends who enriched her life greatly. She enjoyed jokes and loved to laugh. Her sons could always make her laugh.Joyce loved her boys and her grandchildren. She wanted to be with them as much as possible. She will be missed.She died April 9, 2016, in Billings.She is survived by her brother Donald, sister Mary, six sons, Larry (Andrea) Workman, Mike Workman, Rod (Susan) Workman, Bill (Toni) Workman, Aaron (Stacey) Workman and Ernest (Laura) Workman, 21 grandchildren and lots of great-grandchildren.Her funeral was held April 12 at Haskell Funeral Home in Lovell, followed by her burial at the Cowley Cemetery.
