Joyce Lynette Gams Lohrenz of Fishtail, Mont., died quietly Feb. 3, 2016, after a long battle with cancer.[caption id="attachment_10917" align="alignright" width="238"]Joyce Lynette Gams Lohrenz  Joyce Lynette Gams Lohrenz[/caption]She was born Aug. 26, 1947, in Lovell to John and Hermina Gams. She grew up on the family farm in Kane and graduated from Lovell High School in 1966.She married Terry Lohrenz on Nov. 2, 1974, in Lovell.  In February of 1979 they moved to Fishtail.  She spent more than 40 years in the education and coaching fields where she touched many lives, taking time out to raise her four girls.Joyce is survived by husband of 41 years, Terry; daughters Leslee Lohrenz, of Lakewood, Colo., Jimi Lohrenz (Dave Shum), of Columbus, Mont., Kami (Joe) Heimer, of Big Timber, and Kari (Shupe) Planichek, of Absarokee; grandchildren Tyler and Tandy Planichek, Justin, Jakson and Ali Heimer; mother Hermina (Minnie) Gams, of Lovell; brother John (Sylvia) Gams, of Cowley; and sisters Ginger (Denis) Cooper, of California City, Calif., and Jerri (Leonard) Torczon, of Powell.She was preceded in death by her father, John Gams, sisters Judy Workman (2003) and Jane Franks (2012) and husband David Wilson (1973).A memorial service was held on Monday, Feb. 8, 2016, at the high school gym in Absarokee. In lieu of flowers please donate to Frontier Cancer Center or a charity of your choice.  Smith’s Funeral Chapel in Columbus, Mont., is in charge of arrangements.
