Kenneth Earl Miller

Jan. 25, 1936 – June 22, 2021

Kenneth Earl Miller, passed from this life on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at the Billings Clinic Hospital in Billings, Mont. Ken was born on Jan. 25, 1936, in Freesoil, Mich., to Cecil and Millie (Seip) Miller. He learned to work hard at a young age on his uncle’s dairy farm. Ken married his childhood sweetheart, Elsie Marie Ebright, on Aug. 5, 1954. He and Elsie were married for 54 years until her passing in December of 2008. Ken and Elsie had six children while living in Michigan. Ken owned and operated a Standard Service Station at “The Point” in Okemos, Mich., and was active in the community and served as a volunteer fireman.

An avid hunter and fisherman, Ken made several fall hunting trips to Wyoming and fell in love with the Big Horn Mountains. In 1966 he and Elsie loaded up their large, young family and moved to Greybull, Wyo., where they would raise their children and live out their lives.

Ken worked for Collingwood Motors and Blackburn Implement before purchasing the Conoco Service Station in 1973. He operated Miller’s Conoco and Miller’s Auto Repair for 32 years until selling the business to his son Jeff. All of Ken’s large family including Elsie worked in the family business. Ken was active in the community and served on the Rotary Club for many years. While hunting, fishing, camping and, we think, even while playing community softball, he was kicking the dust searching for arrowheads, one of his favorite pastimes.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Elsie and many of his 17 siblings.

He is survived by his six children, Terry Anguiano, Connie (Jim) Porter, Mike Miller, Tim (Sharon) Miller, Tom (Lori) Miller, Jeff (Jep) Miller, 18 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren.

Ken was a quiet and kind man and will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his family and friends. He will be laid to rest next to Elsie at the Donald J. Ruhl Memorial Cemetery in Greybull, Wyo. A graveside memorial service is planned for Aug. 5, 2021. Cremation and arrangements have been entrusted to Atwood Family Funeral Directors.
