Letter to the Editor: Even Salt Lake City allows chickens

Dear Editor,

Before moving to Lovell spring of 2017, I lived in Salt Lake City less than a block from the Utah State Capitol and a block and a half from Temple Square.

While there, I kept bees for several years and chickens from spring of 2012 to the time I moved to Lovell four years later. My neighbors north and south were a restaurant and a 4-plex.

Salt Lake charged me a registration fee of less than thirty dollars to keep the chickens. I never heard of or received any complaints. Salt Lake, in this instance, is land of the free.
