LHS golfers wrap up spring season
Last Friday, the Lovell High School golf team traveled to Sheridan to compete in the Sheridan Invite as the Bulldogs wrapped up their spring season. Lovell golfers were able to finish the season with several strong performances and personal records.
For the girls, Kenley Wilson led Lovell by placing fifth overall with a score of 90, earning a top 10 finish in the final tournament of the spring season. Head coach Dane Robertson said the tournament reflected the hard work the team has put in throughout the season.
On the boys side, Weston Hendershot shot a 93, and Kade Durtsche broke the 100 mark with a 99. Several Lovell golfers were able to set personal records at Kendrick Golf Club.
The Bulldogs had the opportunity to compete against teams they do not normally see during the season. The tournament consisted mostly of 4A schools with only a few 3A teams competing.
“It was a great ending to a good spring season,” Robertson said.
Robertson hopes golfers competing in the fall continue working throughout the summer to build on the improvement they showed this spring.
“We have an opportunity to see some good success during the fall campaign, and I’m excited to see how it goes,” he said.
