Little Grizz wrestling opens with tournament
The 2025-26 Little Grizz wrestling program is underway with 35 kids wrestling from kindergarten through fifth grade coached by Rocky Mountain High School wrestlers and coaches.
Rocky Mountain will travel to Lovell for a dual with the Lovell Little Pups Monday at 5 p.m. at the LHS Winterholler Gym.
“I am extremely excited for Little Grizz wrestling,” coach Eddie Whiting said. “Little Grizz wrestling, as far as I know, has always been a tradition at Rocky Mountain, and to have it back here again is an absolute privilege and honor for me to lead it. I get to do something special watching my wrestlers at RMHS do something I grew a passion for, and I love coaching young minds. It’s a great way to have the high school wrestlers experience what a coach experiences with them but also find a new passion for the sport they do and love.
“We get to have some fun this year. Instead of it being a one-week deal it’s two weeks, and we get to have a mini dual tournament against Lovell Pup wrestling, which I know coach Ty Hecker is excited about. We both thought it was a great idea and have talked about it in the past but didn’t act on it until now, and we think what better way to help build your USA clubs than to kick start them with a mini dual tournament and get them excited for the upcoming season.”
