Little League all-stars begin post-season play
Now that the Big Horn County Little League regular season is complete, the Minors and Majors all-star teams will begin post-season play this weekend in Cody at the All-Star Showdown tournament.
For the Minors, the players selected to compete on the all-star team are Esson Anderson, Austin Grandalen, Jace Grant, Gus Guccion, Kali Jameson, Asher Leonhardt, Kooper May, Lincoln Miller, Hudson Morgan, Logan Timpany, Grayson Walker and Thayne Walker.
Stephen Anderson will be the head coach of the Minors Mustangs, and he will be assisted by Justin Timpany and Stormy Jameson.
At the Cody tournament on Friday, the squad will face Powell at 11 a.m. before taking on Cody at 1 p.m. and Greybull at 5 p.m. Saturday’s games will be determined by Friday’s outcomes.
The Majors team will be made up of the following players: Gage Angell, Camden Blain, Jamen Crosby, Cayden Dickerson, Hayden Harshman, James Henderson, Bryhsan Henton, Adam Hill, Jace Jameson, Braxton Layne, Kayan Owens and Spencer Walker.
They will be coached by head coach Tyler Angell and assistant coaches Zach Blain and Austin Layne.
At the All-Star Showdown tournament, the Majors Mustangs will face the Greybull Bandits at 10 a.m. on Friday, followed by Riverton at 4 p.m. They will then play the all-stars from Lander at 8 a.m. on Saturday.
Both district tournaments will be held in Greybull on July 9-13. If the teams advance to the state tournament, it will be held in Lovell at the Northeast Little League Baseball Complex from July 23-26.
