Little League district and state tournaments under way in Powell

District and State Little League and Juniors tournaments started Saturday in Powell and will be continuing this week, with three Big Horn County all-star teams competing.

The Big Horn County Minor League All-Stars fell to Riverton 15-7 Saturday in Powell in the first game of the 9-10-year-old tournament.

“We played a pretty good game,” manager Kelly Spann said. “It just came down to pitching. We needed one strike and we would’ve won. We started strong defensively; we out hit them 7-5. We just had too many walks in that last inning.”
