The middle school Bulldog wrestlers hosted a triangular competition in Lovell on Thursday. It gave the team valuable time on the mats before the weekend. Although results were not recorded, Coach Quinton Hecker still highlighted the team, saying, “We wrestled really tough, and it was good to get more experience on our mats.”

On Saturday, the Bulldogs traveled to the Laurel Invitational, where they earned several podium finishes across multiple weight classes despite the challenge.

Both Jamen Crosby (weight class 69-74 pounds) and Carson Marberry (83-87) placed third, winning three of their four matches. Hayden Harshman (97-100) and Landon Asay (111-114) both earned first place, finishing the day undefeated at 3-0. In the 125–133 weight class, Britt Asay placed second, winning two of three matches, and Jordan Mangus also placed second in the 167-178-pound class. At 136–145 pounds, Connor Harris earned fourth place, ending the day 2-2. At 175–186, Alexander Mcillwaine earned third place, winning three of four matches.

Coach Hecker highlighted the team’s performance at the invitational, saying, “We got to see some of Montana’s toughest, and we still performed great, even with a small team.”

The Bulldogs will now prepare for Conference in Thermopolis on December 6. The wrestling will begin at 10 a.m.
