LMS harriers run well at Thermop
The Lovell Middle School cross country team ran at the Bobcat Invitational in Thermopolis on Friday, and Coach Joshua Sanders noted, “The weather was fantastic. Because the race started at the beginning of the day, it wasn’t hot, and we were fresh, which made conditions perfect.”
With this good weather, Sanders saw great improvement in many of the runners. He said the team ran well, and he was very pleased to see a significant improvement in the runners’ times from the beginning of the season.
He was especially proud of the eighth graders who have been running over the years, specifically James Sanders, Jackson Sanders, Dagan Reuter, Jamen Crosby, Brock Butler, Spencer Walker, Macee Winterholler and Rylee Mayes.
Boys
The top three boys were James Sanders leading the pack in 29th place with a time of 12:54, Jackson Sanders in 32nd with a time of 13:05 and Reuter in 37th at 13:10.
Other boys results: Crosby 46th, 13:27; Butler 49th, 13:37; Hayden Harshman 60th, 14:12; Walker 69th ,14:48; Trinity Tryon 83rd ,15:37; Gabriel Patina 94th ,16:37; and Nathan Croft 95th, 16:42.
Girls
The top three runners on the girls side were Winterholler leading the team in 20th place with a time of 14:16, Kashlyn Collins in 47th with a time of 15:07 and Hailey Ballard in 5th at 15:16.
Other girls results: Adalyn Waltjen 67th, 16:32; Evalina Garcia 68th ,16:36; Kyndee Anderson 69th, 16:42; Wyatt Hendershot 73rd, 16:48; and Rebecca Stoker 75th, 16:51.
The middle school Bulldogs will race in Powell Thursday for the conference meet at the Powell Country Club. The girls will begin at noon and the boys at 12:30 p.m. Coach Sanders said he thinks much of the team will improve on this course while they try to get new personal records.
