LMS runners strong in opening meet at Cody
The Lovell Middle School cross country team raced at the Cody Invitational on Saturday to open the 2025 season. The course was shorter than what the team is used to. Instead of the typical 3,200 meters, the course was 2,700 meters.
Coach Joshua Sanders said he was proud of the eighth graders who have continued to show improvement after several years of running.
“Treleah Two Two is a really talented runner,” he said. “She really gets after it and wants to race hard.”
Two Two finished 10th with a time of 12:34.94. The coaches are excited to see what she can do as the season progresses.
Macee Winterholler placed 16th with a time of 12:59.38, Kashlyn Collins placed 28th with a time of 13:28.44, Hailey Ballard placed 52nd with a time of 14:46.40, Adalyn Waltjen finished 53rd with a time of 14:55.55, Rylee Mayes finished 56th at 15:08.51 and Rebecca Stoker placed 58th in 15:26.32.
Boys results
On the boys side, the top finisher was James Sanders, who took 15th with a time of 11:46.69. Coach Sanders said he consistently ran over the summer and has shown a lot of improvement.
Hayden Harshman placed 26th with a time of 12:16.92, Jackson Sanders placed 48th with a time of 13:09.21, Brock Butler placed 49th at 13:13.46, Dagan Reuter finished 51st in 13:14.90 and Jamen Crosby placed 54th with a time of 13:40.
The middle school team will host the Lovell Invitational today (Thursday) at the Foster Gulch Golf Course. The first race will begin at 4 p.m.
