Lovell Bulldogs end on high note at State Tournament
The Lovell Bulldog golfers headed to the Olive Glenn Golf Course in Cody to compete in the 3A State Championships.
“I am proud of the way that both of our teams battled this week at State,” head coach Dane Robertson said.
For the boys, Kaeson Anderson led the way, shooting a combined 172 to place 26 overall.
Other golfers scores were: Kellan Jackson, 191; Rocco Rael, 202; Jacob Thomas, 206; Kade Durtsche, 220.
“Anderson played terrifically on both days,” Robertson said. “On day two, we watched him chip in for birdie on one of his early holes, and we could asense that he was going to play phenomenally, which he did.”
For the girls, Kenley Wilson shot a 190 to place 12th, Makinli Mowery finished at 215 and Maddy McCollam 237.
“Kenley played an outstanding tournament, as well, by shooting 14 strokes beneath her season average on day one and 10 strokes beneath it on day two,” Robertson said.
Robertson stated that this group has been a lot fun to coach.
“They like to enjoy themselves while at the same time they have worked hard at getting better at lots of things,” he said. “They are inquisitive and ask questions seeking to better themselves. We will be sad to lose Jacob and Madalyn from this year’s state team but look forward to returning a good crop of players next year. Hopefully we can get some of them out in the spring and hone some skills before entering next fall season.”
