Lovell choral groups, solos receive top honors at performance assessments

Lovell High School choir director Carisa French last week announced the scores for the LHS choir program at the annual Music Performance Assessments held April 15-16 at Northwest College in Powell.
The LHS Show Choir received “Division One” ratings (I) from all three judges, while the Concert Choir received two Division One ratings and one Division Two rating from judges, giving the choir an average rating of 1-minus.
French listed 16 solos or ensembles who received Division One ratings:
Cutler Wilkerson, Kyle Wilson, Damian Wagner, Brody Muller and Owen Hill; Breege Wagner, Atlee Sanders, Rebecca Allred and Kara Hendl; Breege Wagner; Becca Nichols, Jenna Hessenthaler, Jaylee Scheeler and Ella Spanier; AJ Clark; Damian Wagner; Kandace Asay, Candace Walker, Porter Blau and Wilson Hendershot; Grady Henley; Jay Mayes and Lynn Marchant; Matthew Newman, Parker Steenbakkers, Davin Crosby, James Blau, Adnan Khan and Jarrett Allen; James Blau; Jay Mayes; Whitney Hendershot and Parker Steenbakkers; Sadie Wassmer and Atlee Sanders; Kenley Wilson; and Ada Buchholz.
Receiving Division Two ratings were:
Ireeann Anderson; Matty Leithead; Haley Sanders and Ella Spanier; Kennadee Owens; Whitney Hendershot and Kennadee Owens; and Katie Jo Jones. Augastina Lembke received a Division Three rating for her solo.
Many of the solos and ensembles performed for the public Tuesday night, April 23, at a recital of solos and small groups held at the LHS Multipurpose Room.
