Lovell FFA Chapter enjoying busy year of activities
The Lovell FFA and its members have had an outstanding start to our 2023-24 school year. The year kicked off with the Horse, Livestock, Meats and Vet Science teams competing at the NILE in Billings. Our Horse Judging team won the contest at Billings with our Meats Judging team finishing third overall.
In addition to that, we had 10 of our new FFA members and our officer team go to Fall FFA Leadership Conference in Casper. Our students gained so many skills over the two-day event. After that this fall, we tried to take a more community-oriented approach. We completed two community service projects. The first was our annual trick-or-treat for canned goods. We were able to raise more than 1,600 items for our local food pantry. After that we wrote Christmas cards that went to the New Horizons Care Center.
Currently, we just finished our annual fundraiser. This year we raffled a fire pit made by one of our local welding students. Now, we are tirelessly preparing for our spring competitions. This year we have the following teams: Ag Sales, Livestock Judging, Horse Judging, Agriculture Mechanics, Vet Science, Public Speaking, Environmental Natural Recourses and Meats Judging. These teams will compete at contests throughout March and April with our State FFA Convention being the April 10-13. We would also like to thank our amazing community for all of your support throughout the year.
