Lovell Fire Department responds to a vehicle fire
Lovell Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire on Highway 14A and Road 16 on Monday, April 14, at 4:53 pm and arrived at the scene at around 4:56 pm.
“We were dispatched to a single vehicle where a farmer was burning a field of cornstalk,” said Lovell Fire Department Captain Zach Blain. “Apparently, they caught one of their vehicles on fire.”
Blain said he does not know exactly how the vehicle caught on fire, but he said it was burned up upon arrival.
“I assumed the person who was lighting the field was not able to get the vehicle out of the way,” Blain said. “I do not know how exactly the vehicle caught on fire, but when we got there, it was fully engulfed and well burnt up. So, we made sure we put out the fire before anything else happened.”
