Lovell freshmen drop home game to Greybull
The Lovell freshman boys basketball team started the New Year with a competitive battle against Greybull at home Tuesday night, and the visiting Buffs came out on top, 45-40.
The two longtime rivals were tied 7-7 after the first quarter, and Greybull took a 20-17 halftime lead after a 13-10 second quarter advantage.
A seven-point quarter by Mac Morgan, including a pair of three-pointers, helped Lovell outscore Greybull 14-10 in the third, sending the Bulldogs into the fourth with a 31-30 lead, but Greybull took the fourth 15-9 to win by five.
Morgan finished with 15 points to lead the Bulldogs, and Kannon Owens added 10 points, Aaiden Walker 5, Easton Morgan and Tejeo Scheeler 3 each, Kade Durtsche and Weston Hendershot 2 apiece.
Now 1-1, the Bulldogs will compete in the Buffalo Freshman Tournament Saturday, then hit the road again for Powell Monday for a 5 p.m. tip-off.
