Lovell freshmen split with Worland
The Lovell Lady Bulldog freshmen continued their winning ways Tuesday at home, stopping the Worland Lady Warriors 47-35 at Winterholler Gym.
The Lovell boys weren’t as successful, falling to Worland 45-36.
The Lady Bulldogs got off to a slow start, trailing 6-2 after the first quarter, but they outscored the visitors from Washakie County 12-8 in the second quarter, 14-10 in the third and 19-11 in the fourth.
Ava Edwards led Lovell with 18 points, and Ali Walker added 13, Avery Walker 8, Caylee Herman 6 and Addie Weber 2.
Now 7-1, the Lady Bulldogs are off until Monday, Feb. 3, when they travel to Powell Monday for a 5 p.m. tip-off, followed by another 5 p.m. tap at Worland on February 4.
The Lovell boys came out strong Tuesday and led Worland 13-8 after the first quarter, but they went cold in the second quarter, and a 14-2 Worland quarter left the Warriors up 22-15 at halftime. Each team scored 9 points in the third quarter, and Worland won the fourth 14-12 to win by nine.
Tazz McArthur led the Bulldogs with 9 points, and Dallin Bischoff added 7 points, Tyler Knowles 6, Kyson Crosby and Grant Hill 5 each, Anthony Garcia and Nate Cornia 2 apiece.
Now 4-5, the Bulldogs will host Burlington Monday at 6:30 p.m.
